  13. When I first installed my USR VI28800 and QuickLink I had the same
  14. problem.

  16. Whenever I used a different comm program (Wincim., Procom) they
  17. would reset the modem afterwhich  Quicklink would no longer answer
  18. the phone.   A message on Compuserve suggested that I write
  19. AT&F   (or was it AT&F1) in the modem register.
  20. Something like AT&F W1 and that i use ATZ as reset for all my
  21. comm programs.

  29. ½Any info would be greatly appreicated.  I have a USR Sportster 28.8
  30. ½Faxmoodem w/voicemail.  The software I am using is QuickLink Message
  31. ½Center, which came with the modem.  Most of the time, QuickLink will
  32. ½not answer the incoming calls.  Some times it does, but most of the
  33. ½time, it wont.  Sometimes I will get RING on my screen, and even then
  34. ½the call isn't always answered.  
  35. ½My init string is AT&F&A3&B1&H1&R2&D2&C1X4S0=0S7=90   This is the
  36. ½default, and I realize that S0=0 tells the modem not to answer
  37. ½incoming calls.  When I change the S0=0 to S0=2 , or 1 , or anything,
  38. ½I get the msg that the software will not work properly if S0 does not
  39. ½equal 0.  
  40. ½I have contacted USR through e-mail and they have told me that i have
  41. ½an irq conflict.  I have changed and changed my com/irq connections,
  42. ½still getting the same result.  This is the first time I have had
  43. this
  44. ½problem with installing a USR Sportster, and think it might be my
  45. init
  46. ½string, or the software.  If anyone can help me, please feel free to
